It is with great pleasure that I extend my warmest welcome to all of you to the 2nd biennial Estate Agents Conference organized by the Estate Agents Registration Board (EARB). This year, our conference theme is “Re-engineering Real Estate for Emerging Realities”.
The real estate industry is undergoing significant transformations, driven by rapid technological advancements, shifting demographics, and evolving market trends. The sector also has rapid changing regulatory environment. This coupled with a myriad of challenges that includes infiltration of the industry by unqualified and unscrupulous quacks calls for a unified approach by the professionals in the industry to ensure the estate agents stay ahead of the curve, adapt to these emerging realities, seize the opportunities they present and rid the industry of malpractices and quacks, This will bring order to the sector and improve confidence to investors. To achieve this, we need to collectively and continuously find innovative ways to handle our challenges and adapt to emerging realities.
The biennial Estate Agents Conference aims to serve as a platform for real estate professionals to gather and exchange ideas. By sharing knowledge, we will be sharpening each other’s skills for individual and collective gain and for the benefit of the society that we serve. It is a safe place for exchange of knowledge through insightful discussions and deliberations among the professionals in the real estate sector. By involving a wide range of stakeholders in the real estate industry among them the professionals, the regulators, government agencies, financiers, developers among others, it provides a wholesome understanding of the industry. The participants will get a clear understanding of ongoing initiatives by the government in which they can take advantage, the regulatory framework under which they operate for better compliance and advice to their clients. Interacting with financial institutions will help both participants understand the financial landscape and available financing options for the real estate development.
The growth in technology has changed the way everybody does business. It is the aim of the Board to expose the estate agents to this ever evolving arena for us to adapt and fully embrace the emerging technologies for improved and efficient service delivery. This is in line with the Board’s mandate of ensuring the services offered by the estate agents are of high standards.
The conference is a perfect meeting point for persons who have aspirations to join the sector at any level be it as a professional or a property developer. The high level interaction and networking among the industry players will avail the participants a forum not only to learn but also engage in meaningful conversations, forge valuable connections, and build relationships with fellow professionals and key industry players who are at the forefront of shaping the future of real estate, increasing both social and economic capital.
